Charging Into Fire Safety!
RGCGISD students kicked off Fire Prevention Week this morning with a fun and engaging presentation from the Rio Grande City Fire Department!
This year’s theme, “Charge into Fire Safety: Safe Charging is a Superpower,” focused on teaching students how everyday rechargeable devices—such as iPads, e-bikes, electronics, and other battery-powered items—can become fire hazards when they are not charged or handled safely.
Our firefighters did an outstanding job keeping our students entertained, involved, and learning throughout the presentation. The students had a great time while picking up important fire-safety lessons they can take home and share with their families.
A big thank you to the Rio Grande City Fire Department and the City of Rio Grande City for spending the morning with our students and helping us charge into Fire Prevention Week safely!

The RGCGISD Migrant Department held its Pre-Meaningful Consultation Migrant Parent Officer's Meeting on Friday, October 2, 2026. The meeting focused on program requirements, student needs, reports on purchased items, unfinished business, upcoming events, and next steps. The meeting provided an opportunity for meaningful discussion, collaboration, and planning to ensure continued support for Migrant students and their families.
